John Mott is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience as an income tax specialist. He owns and manages a public accounting practice based in Toronto that provides tax, accounting and advisory services to individuals and businesses. Currently, the firm consists of 8 experienced and dedicated professional accountants.
John holds an MBA from the University of Toronto and an undergraduate business degree from Lakehead University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA, Illinois).
John tutored for several years at the In-Depth Tax Course sponsored by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). He is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation. His articles have appeared in various publications, including the Canadian Tax Journal and The Financial Post Magazine. He is the author of the highly acclaimed Tax Guide for Investment Advisors, currently in its 17th edition and widely regarded as the leading tax reference for the Canadian investment industry. Prior to opening his practice in 1994, John was a tax specialist with the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young.
